The top frequently asked question I get is: “Why would I pay for your services when I could just use toothpaste?”
Below are the details which will show the difference between the two types of restorations.
We first start off with a full frontal shot.
As you can see, this client’s headlights are cloudy and really needs a restoration.
Here’s a shot of just the one headlight that we are going to work on.
Now for testing purposes, we are going to tape off half the headlight and apply toothpaste to the left side.
The toothpaste we used for this demonstration is “Colgate Total plus Whitening“.
First we apply the toothpaste to the left side and then we vigorously rub with our microfiber cloth.
Now we remove the tape and compare the results.
Now for the results.
I’ll admit, I was a bit shocked when I took off the paste. It actually worked! Here’s some more shots.
Here’s a shot from underneath, where we can see what’s going on.
There’s the truth. It did work, but it just didn’t have the power to remove ALL of the oxidation.
To compare the toothpaste to our services, we the tape divider back on, and left a good amount of “original” headlight.
The right side cleared up real nice, that’s our product working it’s magic.
Here’s a close up of the toothpaste side.
And here’s one of our polished side.
Clear as glass! No competition there.
Here’s a video where we try to show the difference. Remember there is a tape line that will show the clarity of the “original” headlight.
Toothpaste vs Professional Headlight Restoration Service
After that was all said and done, we finished up with restoring the whole light to brand new again.
Wow, who knew toothpaste could work like that? I’m sure your product is much better! Can’t wait to book!!
It’s hard to come by experienced people on this topic, but you seem like you know what you’re talking
about! Thanks
Great article, just what I was looking for.
